It always gives me the flutter of excitement to run to meet you.
That excitement makes me run to Jeju Island again.
What kind of scenery will Jeju offer this fall.
Even now, I am filled with that excitement.

제주 성산일출봉과 바다는 가을이 깊어질 수록
파란 하늘과 푸른 바다가 너무나 멋진 파사체가 됩니다
바람이 적당하 날 이곳에는
하늘 바다 파도가 만들어주는 제주의 가을풍경은
언제나 달려가 만나고 싶은 설레임을 줍니다.
그 설레임은 나를 다시 제주도로 달려가게끔 합니다.
올 가을 제주는 어떤 풍경이 있을까.
지금도 그 설레임이 가득합니다.

Autumn, seen from above.
 
Deep in the boreal forests of Northern Finland, autumn doesn’t arrive quietly — it explodes into color.
 
From above, endless layers of crimson, gold, orange and deep green weave together into an abstract landscape of light and texture. Every patch of forest becomes a brushstroke.
 
A circular polarizer helped bring out the richness of the scene — cutting through atmospheric haze, reducing reflections from the foliage and intensifying the natural colors without making them feel artificial.
 
Sometimes, the best way to understand a forest is to stop looking at the trees.
 
And see the forest as a living painting.

Chiesa dei Santi Geremia e Lucia | Venice

The Grand Canal is rarely still. Boats constantly cross the frame, creating movement and distraction in an otherwise timeless architectural scene.
For this photograph of the Chiesa dei Santi Geremia e Lucia, I used the Haida M10 II filter system with a Drop-In ND 4.5 - a 15-stop neutral density filter - and exposed the scene for more than four minutes. The long exposure allowed the constant boat traffic on the Canal Grande to disappear almost completely, while making the movement of the clouds visible across the sky.
This is one of the things I appreciate most about long exposure photography: it does not simply record a place as it appears in a particular moment. It can reduce movement, change the perception of time and reveal a quieter version of a scene that, in reality, is anything but quiet.
 
The photograph is part of my book “Venezia - Entre Deux Souffles / Venice - Between Two Breaths”, a collection of around 100 photographs made in Venice over many years.

Rather than simply bringing together a selection of my favourite photographs, I designed the book as a movement through Venice. Its sequence largely follows a walk through the city - across piazzas, through narrow streets, along the canals and eventually onto the surrounding islands.
The intention is to create more than a collection of photographs: a way of experiencing Venice. There is no strict itinerary, and getting lost is very much part of the journey.

“Venezia - Entre Deux Souffles” is an invitation to enter Venice slowly - to look beyond the familiar images, to follow its streets and canals, and perhaps to lose your way for a while.

It’s always a pleasure to put the tripod…and my feet in the water on the Pink Granite Coast in Brittany.
 
Playing with the waves using long exposures, finding the right shutter speed to preserve their movement, their power and all the texture in the water, is truly what excites me most about photography.
 
There’s something I particularly enjoy about those moments when I’m right by the water, watching the waves, anticipating their movement and releasing the shutter at just the right moment.
 
Wet feet are often part of the experience…but that’s also part of the pleasure of photographing the sea!

The theree bridges over the Forth in Scotland provide for a unique sight.
 
The third bridge is Queensferry Crossing (modern road bridge) and was opened in 2017; it is now the main crossing for most road traffic.
